Remembering Our Beloved Founder: Esther Bolkin

For more than 4 decades, Esther Bolkin blazed an innovative trail, creating a path for all Lash Lovers to travel. Her kindness, vision, skill, and loving spirit continue to be felt, remembered, and carried forward. Though we lost this remarkable woman in September 2023, her memory lives on through GladGirl and each and every lash applied by all those she taught and mentored along the way.

As the GladGirl community reconciles this tremendous loss, they remain committed to honoring her legacy and holding true to the mission she established: empowering and supporting the success of clients, students, customers, and the loyal GladGirl Team who worked beside Esther to carry out her vision for years.

The Foundation and Future: Brian Greene's Vision

Inspired by Esther's visionary focus within the eyelash extension industry, son-in-law Brian Greene joined her journey, formally partnering with Esther to found Glad Lash in 2009. Brian immediately set out to tap into the full potential of the business Esther had begun some 35 years prior.

Working largely behind the scenes, Brian mindfully developed the brand and company culture, taking on the leadership role of CEO in 2011. He launched a comprehensive online store with full e-commerce capabilities and an impressive catalog of new products, eyelash sizes, and styles to better support growth and accommodate a rapidly growing customer base.

Evolution into GladGirl

Effectively anticipating and identifying industry trends, Brian continued to diversify product lines, expand company services, and innovate branding to satisfy customer enthusiasm and demand. In January 2016, this evolution was formally established as GladGirl. In 2018, GladGirl expanded its vision further with the first of its physical stores.

A Guiding Philosophy

As Brian Greene explains: "This is where GladGirl shines like a guiding light. We firmly believe that when our customers thrive and achieve success, we will naturally flourish as well, fostering a beautiful cycle of growth and prosperity."

This philosophy continues to guide GladGirl as they expand their physical presence and diversify their already impressive product offering, looking forward to being an important partner with the GladGirl Community for decades to come.

In 2020, they were formally recognized and approved by PETA as part of their Global Animal Test Policy. GladGirl is also a long-standing member of the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), which promotes "a love for our work" as beauty professionals and helps members "be the very best in our business."
