A Run, a Candy, and a Dog

In 2021, while out for a run, co-founder Paige had an idea to create a sports nutrition product she could actually look forward to eating. As a marathoner, she experimented with all kinds of gels and chews while training, struggling to find something she could enjoy on the run. Sour gummy candies were a fun alternative, but they lacked electrolytes, were difficult to chew, and often got stuck in her teeth. If only there were energy chews that tasted like sour gummy candy… and that's when it hit her. If she couldn't find them, she could make them! This runner's frustration became the spark for an entirely new category of sports nutrition.

A Dietitian with a Dream: Paige Foote, Co-Founder

As a dietitian in the sports performance field, Paige had the skills to bring this idea to life. Partnering with her husband Ben and a food science team, they began developing energy chews inspired by sour gummy candy but designed for performance. Today, Ben and Paige run Noogs together, building a brand around delicious fuel and the belief that fueling can be fun! This professional expertise combined with personal passion created something the sports nutrition world had never seen before.

The Original Noog: Named After Daisy

Paige and Ben Foote often joke that their dog, Daisy, looks like a chicken nugget. "We went from calling her 'Chicken Nugget' to 'Nugget,' to 'Nug,' and eventually, Noog." When it came time to name the product, Noogs was an obvious choice — reflecting the fun and playful nature of the brand and honoring their special girl who has been with them through it all. This origin story is as joyful and genuine as the product itself.
