In 2010, Ora’s one-year-old daughter developed eczema. After a doctor immediately recommended antibiotics and steroids without asking about diet, symptoms, or environment, Ora felt there had to be another path. With a background in biology and plant-based nutrition, she turned to master herbalists and naturopaths, who advised her to make a salve.
The Salve That Started It All
That first formula became the famous Touchy Skin Salve. Ora tested it on her own family, shared extra batches with friends, family, and teachers, and soon heard stories about how much it helped. When a teacher offered to pay for another batch, Ora had her lightbulb moment.
A Health Journey Behind The Brand
Ora’s commitment to natural healing was personal long before she created a product. In 1991, at just 18 years old, she was hospitalized with serious Crohn’s disease symptoms. That experience sent her toward holistic medicine, plant-based nutrition, herbs, and clean living. Years later, everything she had learned helped her look at her daughter’s skin differently.
