Laek was originally known as Minaret, a name inspired by the majestic Minaret mountains in California’s Sierra Nevada Range. As the brand grew, Jordan began looking for a name that felt easier to remember and better reflected the depths, distances, locations, and environments connected to the products.

The result was Laek — short, memorable, and distinctive, with a visual identity that feels as considered as the gear itself.

Laek came from the idea of “lake,” a word that felt connected to the outdoors but did not quite capture the unique brand Jordan was creating. The spelling was reshaped into something more ownable and more visually engaging.
