SorSoap: A Designer, A Physical Therapist, And A Different Kind Of Soap
Meet the people behind the curved massage bar, then explore soap formulas, portable tools, and the accessories that bring the routine together.
Shop SorSoap ↓SorSoap’s story begins with David Restiano, an active graphic designer, and a question that arrived in an ordinary place: the shower.
After experiencing persistent hip-flexor discomfort, David visited his longtime physical therapist, Dr. Daniel Staats. In the founders’ account, a session involving a muscle-scraping tool left David thinking about how that experience might fit into daily life.
Later, looking at a curved green bar of soap, he wondered whether a cleansing bar could also have the shape of a massage tool. Before he had even dried off, the designer in him was already sketching.
A Personal Experience Became A Design Project
That first idea brought together two things David knew well: an active lifestyle and a creative instinct for solving problems through form.
He teamed up with Dr. Staats to develop the concept. Their collaboration paired the perspective of someone imagining a new product with the experience of a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
The result was SorSoap: a shaped cleansing bar designed to bring a massage-style element into the shower, rather than ask people to build an entirely separate ritual around it.
Meet The Founders
David Restiano
Founder And Inventor
An athlete and graphic designer, David describes SorSoap as a meeting point for his creative work and his wish to help people make room for self-care while doing more of what they enjoy.
Dr. Daniel Staats
Co-Founder And Physical Therapist
The supplied biography identifies Dr. Staats as a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in orthopedic musculoskeletal care, with a clinical practice in Brick, New Jersey, and university teaching experience.
From The First Sketch To Shark Tank
The founders later brought their idea to Shark Tank. Their story describes demonstrating the product and gaining Mark Cuban’s involvement in the business.
It was a visible milestone for an idea that had begun with a single person noticing the shape of a soap bar. The heart of the story remained the same: a practical object, a familiar routine, and a different way of bringing the two together.
Self-Care Without An Elaborate Setup
SorSoap’s appeal starts with simplicity. A curved bar, a way to let it dry, and a scent you enjoy can make an everyday shower feel more considered.
The wider range adds a reusable tool and storage accessories, so you can choose between the soap itself, a separate massage-style implement, or a bundle that combines them.
The Design Idea
One Familiar Routine, A More Thoughtful Shape
The bars use a contoured form rather than a conventional rectangular shape. Product descriptions identify triple-milled soap, while the SORTOOL Pro offers a separate polycarbonate option.
Choose around the kind of object you want to use and care for: a cleansing bar that gradually gets smaller, or a reusable tool that does not replace soap.
Find Your Routine
Clean & Simple
Two- and six-bar packs use a lavender, menthol, and chamomile blend. The listings describe a white version made without the violet manganese used in the earlier purple bars. It is scented, not fragrance-free.
Citrus And Bergamot
Two- and six-bar packs offer a different aromatic direction. The two-pack ingredient list names bergamot oil, orange peel oil, vegetable-derived glycerin, shea butter, and vitamin E alongside its soap base.
SORTOOL Pro
A lightweight polycarbonate tool with a hand opening and two different edges. It is a separate reusable accessory, not a soap bar and not a substitute for professional treatment.
The Pro Bundles
Clean & Simple and Citrus Pro Bundles each list a SORTOOL Pro, two bars in the selected formula, a suction cup holder, and a sisal soap-saving bag.

Explore SorSoap ↓A Place To Dry Between Showers
The suction cup holder is designed to store the bar or tool within reach and let the soap dry between uses. Surface compatibility matters: the case description notes that the suction cup may not adhere to natural stone shower walls.
The SORxCASE offers a separate storage option with ventilation openings, a hinge, and opening notches. Its description suggests travel, gym visits, and shared showers as possible settings.
When The Bar Gets Smaller
The sisal soap-saving bag is intended for the remaining pieces once a bar becomes too small to use in its original form. The descriptions suggest using those remnants for washing and exfoliation.
Some pack listings include a holder and bag; check the particular product’s contents rather than assume every soap purchase comes with the same accessories. Bar life varies with use and drying, so we do not treat the different listing estimates as a fixed promise.
Build Your Ritual
Keep It Simple And Gentle
Choose The Scent: Compare lavender, menthol, and chamomile with the citrus-and-bergamot option, reviewing the full formula for your skin’s needs.
Plan The Storage: Give the bar a suitable place to drain and dry. A holder or ventilated case serves a different purpose from a soap-saving bag.
Follow The Product Instructions: Use gentle pressure rather than chasing soreness or bruising. Stop if use causes pain or skin irritation, and avoid broken or irritated skin.
Essential oils and menthol can irritate some skin; review ingredients and test a small area first. Ask a qualified clinician before muscle scraping if you have an injury, a medical condition, or take blood-thinning medication. Persistent pain deserves individual assessment, not more pressure.
Why We Carry SorSoap
We appreciate the human scale of the beginning: David noticing a possibility in a familiar object, then working with Dr. Staats to develop it.
The collection gives that idea several practical forms, from scented bars to a separate tool and thoughtful storage accessories. Choose the pieces that suit your routine, keep the approach gentle, and let self-care stay something you make room for rather than another complicated task.
