The Founding Story — As Told By Will
Harvard — Curiosity Is Born
Studying psychology and neuroscience as an undergrad, Will became fascinated with the human brain and how it functions. That academic foundation would later drive everything.
Post-Graduation — Problems Arise
After settling into long workdays, chronic mental fatigue and headaches became daily struggles. Something was wrong — and Will was determined to find out what.
The Breakthrough — Diet As The Culprit
He identified his carb-packed diet as the problem. By drastically reducing carbs and consuming more fats and anti-inflammatory compounds, he experienced an astounding recovery in mental energy and clarity.
The Gap — No Product Existed
Elation gave way to frustration. He couldn’t find ready-to-eat options that fit his new diet and hectic lifestyle. He was astounded that no food product centering on brain and body nutrition existed.
The Lightbulb — “Why Don’t I Create That?”
After hearing similar frustrations from others on low-carb regimens, Will started spending nights and weekends researching esoteric nutrients and prototyping in his apartment kitchen.
2017 — Kickstarter Launch
After countless iterations over the course of a year, Will launched a Kickstarter campaign in late 2017 — and the first version of IQBAR protein bars was born.
