A soft caramel blonde, and only one herb in it carries colour. Colourless henna leads the ingredient list, henna comes second, and nothing after that is adding or removing tone. No indigo, no manjistha, no hibiscus.

It needs a light base. Plant pigment adds and never lifts, so on medium brown hair a light caramel barely registers and on anything darker it won't show.

These two share the same herbs, and the ingredient lists look nearly identical. The difference is in the proportions, which we don't publish — held by one person at our production facility in India. Caramel runs warmer; Beige runs more neutral.

Depending on the length of the hair, portion hair powder in the following amount:

• 1.1oz (one-third) – For short hair
• 2.2oz(one-half) – For shoulder-length hair
• 3.5oz – For waist length hair

What kind of colour this is

Conventional dye lifts your own pigment out and puts synthetic pigment in its place. This one doesn't lift anything — plant pigment layers over what you already have, so the cuticle stays shut and there is no damage to repair afterwards.

And this shade goes further: it barely colours at all. Colourless henna leads the list, and it hardly tints. Henna sits second, on a light base reading as warmth rather than red. The remaining three herbs carry no pigment whatsoever.

What to expect

• Right after rinsing — warmer than the finish, and no green cast. There is no indigo here to wait out.
• First day or two — the warmth eases as the pigment settles.
• Where it lands — a soft caramel. Judge it on day two, not the first evening.

Worth trying: the acid step. Add 1–2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to the mixed paste and let it rest 15–30 minutes before applying. Henna's pigment releases more readily in mildly acidic conditions. This works because there is no indigo in this shade — don't carry it over to any shade with indigo in it.
