Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Debelle’s Roastery brings together two different backgrounds and one shared belief: coffee deserves care, from the relationships behind it to the cup you pour for someone else.

A Friendship That Kept Coming Back To Coffee

Deb and Isabelle met through their husbands, who served together in the Marine Corps. They connected quickly, and coffee kept finding its way into their conversations.

Isabelle brought roasting knowledge and an enthusiasm for the technical side of the craft. Deb was drawn to the experience around the cup: the welcome, the company, and the way a familiar drink can bring people closer.

Those conversations grew into a shared idea for a small-batch roastery built around intention, quality, and thoughtful sourcing. What started as a dream became a women-owned business with roots in Raleigh and an invitation that reaches beyond it.

Meet Deb: A Cup That Feels Like Home

Originally from New York, Deb has called North Carolina home since 2014. Her path also took her through Allentown, Philadelphia, and Puerto Rico before settling in Raleigh with her family.

One of her earliest coffee memories is arriving to visit her grandparents in Puerto Rico. No matter how late the flight, warm buttered bread and a cup of coffee were waiting. That feeling of being welcomed stayed with her.

Today, community remains part of her everyday life, whether she is roasting, practicing yoga, spending time with her family, or serving coffee at her local church. The cup is part of the connection, not simply something to finish before the day begins.

Meet Isabelle: Curiosity Became Craft

Isabelle grew up in West Virginia and moved to North Carolina in 2012. Coffee roasting was not a planned career path; it began as something to explore and quickly became a subject she could happily get lost in.

She loves the process of taking a raw ingredient and transforming it into a drink so many people care about. That curiosity brings attention and enthusiasm to the work, with room to keep learning.

Away from roasting, she is working toward a bachelor’s degree in economics and enjoys time outdoors. Slow days with a hot cup in hand offer a balance to studying and creating.

Choosing an air roaster fit Deb and Isabelle’s approach to freshness, flavor, and consistency. They roast in small batches and to order, with careful attention to each stage rather than treating roasting as an invisible step.
